Sydney types the address of Harlow’s apartment into her GPS.
It’s just over a three-hour drive from her own.
She makes sure her homemade cupcakes are secured before she buckles her seatbelt.
She starts to drive, wondering what Harlow will be like, what their apartment will look like.
Three hours pass fairly quickly and Sydney is finding a parking spot along the street, just a short walk away.
She grabs her duffle bag and cupcakes.
Sydney finds her way to a cozy brick front apartment with a bright purple door.
She rings the bell for their apartment number and taps her foot anxiously.
Maverick answers and welcomes her in, leading her to their apartment.
“You must be Sydney!”
Harlow hugs Maverick’s twin the second they walk in, treating her like an old friend.
Sydney gets a tour of the colorfully decorated apartment from a talkative Harlow.
But Sydney notices something.
Maverick.
He sits on the couch in the living room looking unsettled… almost nervous.
Like he is on trial and being judged.
Harlow picks up that Sydney is watching her brother, “it took a lot for him to reach out to you.”
“He’s different.”
“I know. He just wants to protect you. Like a good brother…like a good soldier would.”
“Yeah…”
“Maverick thought his world was ending, everything he had dreamed and worked for was gone.”
“I couldn’t imagine.”
“One day he was training for a mission, the next he was being told he could no longer serve.”
Harlow continues, “that’s all behind us now, now it’s about moving forward. For Maverick.”
